Religious processions held in France for the Assumption of Mary

Religious processions were held in France to celebrate the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. In Lyon, several hundred faithful gathered in the 5th arrondissement near the Parc de la Visitation for a traditional procession. Led by Father Yves Guerpillon, the rector of the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière, the event featured a new route with five prayer stations dedicated to various religious figures and intentions, including the renewal of consecrated life and respect for human life.

In Le Bouchon-sur-Saulx, the Saint-Eloi-Saulx-et-Perthois parish organized a procession at the Notre-Dame-de-l’Epine sanctuary. Due to heatwave conditions and fire risks, organizers replaced traditional torches with LED lights. The event concluded at the village square near a monumental statue of Notre-Dame de l’Epine.
