Religious processions mark anniversaries in Almazán and Baena
Religious celebrations are marking significant milestones in Almazán and Baena. In Almazán, the Bajada de Jesús Nazareno procession celebrated its 30th anniversary as a Regional Tourist Interest Festival. To protect the Palacio de los Altamira from potential damage, the traditional pyrotechnic display was relocated to the Plaza del Zarrón.
In Baena, the Cofradía de Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno is commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Jesús Day cults, which began in 1876. This year's celebration is noted for the unprecedented participation of the image of María Magdalena in the September 14 procession, marking the centenary of her incorporation into the festivities. Religious activities include a triduum at the Iglesia Conventual de San Francisco and a solemn parade.
