Religious scholars discuss the historical legacy of Fatimah Zahra

Religious scholars in Iran have highlighted the historical and religious significance of Fatimah Zahra’s actions following the death of the Prophet Muhammad.

Mehdi Taheri, a seminary and university instructor, emphasized that silence during critical historical turning points can lead to the loss of rights. He noted that while many individuals recognized the truth regarding the position of Ali ibn Abi Talib, many failed to act, whereas Fatimah Zahra took responsibility to defend the truth through active engagement.

Ali Al-Wandi, a member of the Ihya Theological Institute in Hamedan, analyzed the long-term achievements of her protests. He noted that while her immediate political or economic goals, such as the return of Fadak, may not have been realized in the short term, her actions—including the Fadak speech—provided a lasting historical and critical framework for Shia identity and the understanding of early Islamic political developments.
