Religious services and icon veneration held in Greece
In Neo Faliro, the Holy Icon of Panagia Eleousa from the Holy Monastery of Stomion in Konitsa was welcomed at the Holy Temple of Agios Dimitrios on October 16. The icon, which is visiting Attica for the first time, will remain at the temple until October 30 for veneration. The arrival was led by Abbot Maximus Panagiotou and attended by Metropolitan Seraphim of Piraeus and Bishop Nephon of Acheloos. During the service, Metropolitan Seraphim highlighted the spiritual connection between the icon and Saint Paisios, who used to pray before it.
Separately, religious services are scheduled at Saint Achillios. On October 23, an Euchaleion service will be held, during which various holy relics kept at the temple will be placed for veneration. Additionally, on October 22, 2026, Metropolitan Hieronymos of Larissa and Tyrnavos will preside over a vigil and Divine Liturgy in honor of Saint James the Brother of the Lord, following the ancient liturgical tradition written by the saint.
