Religious services and pilgrimage preparations continue in Suceava and Iași

Religious activities and preparations for major pilgrimages are underway across several Romanian regions. In Suceava, Archbishop Calinic officiated the 18th Sunday after Pentecost at the Suceava Metropolitan Cathedral. Due to ongoing restoration work at the monument, the liturgy was held at an altar set up near the bell tower entrance. During the service, the importance of preserving Romanian rural identity and traditions was highlighted, alongside reflections on the life of Saint Martyr Antim Ivireanul.

In Iași, hundreds of pilgrims have already begun arriving ahead of the official Saint Parascheva pilgrimage. Many devotees are gathering at the Metropolitan Cathedral to pray before the official procession, scheduled for October 8. Local efforts to support the influx of visitors include free accommodation at a central church and food donations from over 40 local restaurants. The upcoming procession will feature the relics of Saint Parascheva and Saint Paisie.
