Religious sites in Úbeda and Salto undergo renovations or new projects

In Úbeda, Spain, the San Ginés chapel within the Municipal Cemetery has been restored to serve as a space for prayer and reflection. Local municipal works addressed previous deterioration to provide a suitable environment for spiritual accompaniment. The restoration features a donated image of the Piedad, provided by the family of Pedro Ruiz, which was highlighted by Mayor Antonia Olivares during a visit to the site.

In Salto, Uruguay, the Cathedral Basilica is planning the construction of a columbarium to house the ashes of the deceased. The project, designed by architect Paula Durán, aims to create individual niches in a space adjacent to the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament. The initiative is currently awaiting authorization from the Heritage Commission to ensure the new construction maintains harmony with the historic architecture of the cathedral.
