Religious studies institutes in Salerno and Gaeta open 2026-2027 enrollment

Religious and theological academic institutions in Italy have opened enrollment for the 2026-2027 academic year.

In Salerno, the Istituto Superiore di Scienze Religiose ‘San Matteo’ is accepting applications for its undergraduate and master’s degrees in Religious Sciences. Affiliated with the Pontificia Facoltà Teologica dell’Italia Meridionale, the institute offers studies in theology, philosophy, and human sciences. The program is designed for clergy and laity alike, providing professional pathways such as teaching Catholic religion in schools. The deadline for applications is October 16, 2026, with classes beginning on September 28, 2026.

In Gaeta, the Centro Studi Cardinal Tommaso De Vio has also opened registrations for the upcoming academic year. The center offers a multidisciplinary curriculum covering Sacred Scripture, theology, philosophy, church history, and the sociology of religion. Additionally, the program includes pedagogy, psychology, and various linguistic studies, including Biblical Hebrew, Classical Greek, Sanskrit, Chinese, and Japanese. Through an agreement with the Istituto Teologico Leoniano of Anagni, the center provides qualifying paths for those seeking to become Catholic religion teachers.
