Religious traditions and parish activities highlighted in Serbia and Croatia
Religious traditions and community activities are being highlighted across the region. In Serbia, religious educator Andrea Kereš has shared guidance on the preparations required for the blessing of water during the Slava tradition. To prepare for a priest's visit, households are advised to set out basil, a vessel of water, a small candle, a censer, incense, and a list of household members near the family's Slava icon.
In Croatia, the St. Peter and Paul Parish in Osijek is observing Missionary Sunday, encouraging parishioners to support church missionary work through prayer and material donations. The parish also noted its ongoing support for children in an orphanage in Benin. Additionally, the parish has scheduled various community events, including youth meetings, catechesis sessions, and a forthcoming thanksgiving for the fruits of the earth.
