Religious traditions celebrated in Corigliano Calabro and Viterbo

Various religious traditions and community celebrations are being observed across different Italian regions.

In Corigliano Calabro, the community is celebrating the Feast of the Blessed Virgin of Sorrows. The festivities include a procession featuring the effigy of the Madonna Addolorata and the Crucifix, traveling from the historic center to the Santa Croce in the Ariella district. The event serves as a significant moment for prayer, reflection, and communal identity.

In Viterbo, the city marked the 40th anniversary of its diocese with a solemn celebration for the Madonna della Quercia, the city's patron saint. For the first time, 50 porters carried the sacred effigy through a procession from the Church of Paradise to the basilica. The event included participation from local institutions, mayors from the Tuscia area, and religious orders, emphasizing a spiritual and civic bond with the patroness.
