REM and Namur implement changes to parking availability
The Réseau express métropolitain (REM) is implementing changes to its parking offerings. Starting September 1, over 500 paid parking spaces at the Brossard station will be converted to free spaces, increasing the total number of free spots from 1,998 to 2,511. A smaller area of 310 paid spaces will remain near the station entrance. Additionally, at the Panama station, expansion works will result in paid parking increasing from 21 to 75 spaces, while free spaces will decrease from 379 to 360.
In Namur, Belgium, the city is extending paid parking to the entire Fragnée district and the quays. This expansion includes the installation of additional payment terminals, aiming for a total of 68 in Outremeuse and 30 in Fragnée. The new paid zone is scheduled to be activated in November and will support credit card payments. Local residents will continue to receive free parking through a system allowing up to three cards per household.
