Rembang official selection probe enters formal inquiry stage

The investigation into the selection process for High Leadership Positions (JPTP) in Rembang Regency has officially entered the inquiry stage. Fahrudin, the former Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Rembang who now serves as the Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), confirmed that the Central Java Regional Police are currently questioning witnesses. While the case has progressed from an initial investigation to a formal inquiry, no suspects have been named as of September 23, 2026.

Fahrudin stated that the report cannot be withdrawn because it is a formal offense rather than a complaint-based offense. The Acting Head of the Regional Civil Service Agency (BKD) of Rembang, Mardi, also confirmed that the Central Java Regional Police are handling the matter and have begun examining several parties involved in the selection process.

In a separate administrative development, Fahrudin was officially inaugurated as the Head of BPBD Rembang by Regent Harno. This transition marks the end of his five-year tenure as the Regional Secretary. Regent Harno expressed appreciation for his service and emphasized that his new role requires integrity and professional dedication to community service.
