Rembang Regency awards 32 schools with Adiwiyata environmental honors
The Rembang Regency Government has awarded 32 schools with the 2026 District-level Adiwiyata Award to recognize their commitment to environmental conservation. The awards were presented by Rembang Regent Harno following the 81st Indonesian Independence Day ceremony at the Rembang town square.
Ika Himawan, Head of the Rembang Environmental Agency, stated that the recognition serves as appreciation for schools that demonstrate excellence in cleanliness, waste management, and greenery. The assessment process began in 2025 through planning and surveys to identify schools meeting the necessary criteria.
Award recipients are expected to move beyond administrative achievements and integrate environmental preservation into daily habits. For example, Madrasah Aliyah Mualimin Mualimat Rembang reported implementing environmental culture through collective cleaning activities and tree planting involving both teachers and students.
