Rembrandt engraving exhibition opens at CaixaForum València

CaixaForum València, in collaboration with the British Museum, is hosting a new exhibition titled ‘Rembrandt. Un mundo en grabados’ (Rembrandt. A World in Prints). The exhibition focuses on the Dutch master's lesser-known technical skills as an engraver and draftsman, rather than his famous paintings.

The collection features 75 works from the British Museum, including 68 engravings, six drawings, and a copper plate. The exhibition is organized into six thematic sections: Self-portraits, Portraits, Rembrandt's Women, Life Drawing, Landscape and Nature, and Biblical Narratives. The display aims to demonstrate how Rembrandt used line, light, and shadow to experiment and observe the world, treating engraving as a primary field of creative exploration rather than a secondary activity.

The exhibition will be available at CaixaForum València until February 7, 2027.
