Reme teachers integrate culture into math and art lessons

Teachers from the Municipal Education Network (Reme) are participating in specialized training programs designed to integrate cultural elements into classroom instruction.

In mathematics, the program ‘A multicultural look through mathematical modeling,’ promoted by the Municipal Education Secretariat (Semed), encourages educators to connect mathematical concepts to indigenous culture. Through guided visits to the Dom Bosco Cultures Museum, teachers explore how patterns and compositions in indigenous weaving can be used to teach mathematical modeling and relate the subject to students' daily lives.

In art education, teachers participated in the ‘Artistic mediation and the time of art in school’ training held at Morada dos Baís. This initiative focuses on using the collections at Morada dos Baís and the Lídia Baís Museum to foster dialogue between students and artistic heritage, helping educators transform museum experiences into classroom learning opportunities.
