Remedy Entertainment announces free updates for Control Resonant

Remedy Entertainment has released Control Resonant, the sequel to the 2019 title Control. The game shifts the narrative focus to Dylan Faden, the younger brother of the original protagonist Jesse Faden, who is now missing. Set in a warped Manhattan, the gameplay features a melee-focused hack-and-slash style using a shape-shifting weapon called the Aberrant.

Following the game's launch on September 24 across Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, Remedy announced upcoming free content updates. A New Game++ mode is scheduled for release in October, which will allow players to restart the campaign while retaining combat improvements, health, resources, and supernatural powers, though exploration abilities must be re-unlocked.

Additionally, a Photo Mode is expected to arrive in November to address player requests. Creative director Mikael Kasurinen noted that the two games mirror each other in reverse, with Dylan searching for Jesse in a way that echoes Jesse's journey in the first installment.
