Remedy Entertainment director denies Alan Wake 3 teaser in Control Resonant

Mikael Kasurinen, creative director at Remedy Entertainment, has clarified that the game Control Resonant does not contain a teaser for Alan Wake 3. The clarification follows fan speculation triggered by a hidden easter egg within the game.

Players can discover a secret room featuring a live-action sequence with Sam Lake, Ilkka Villi, and Matthew Porretta. Given their roles as the creative face of Remedy and the actors associated with the Alan Wake series, the footage—which references the Dark Place—led many to believe it was a preview for a sequel.

Kasurinen stated that while Remedy enjoys planting seeds for future stories within its shared Remedy Connected Universe, it was essential for Control Resonant to stand as a self-contained adventure. The studio aimed to ensure the game maintains its own identity without leaving players feeling that major mysteries remain unresolved pending a future release.
