Remedy Entertainment's Alan Wake 2 surpasses 3 million copies sold

Remedy Entertainment has announced that its survival-horror title, Alan Wake 2, has surpassed 3 million copies sold. According to the studio's latest semi-annual financial report, the milestone was reached during the second quarter of 2026.

While the game experienced a steady rather than explosive sales trajectory following its 2023 release, it has become Remedy's fastest-selling title. Having already recouped its development and marketing costs, the studio is now earning direct royalties from consumer sales. This follows a previous milestone in early 2025 when the game surpassed 2 million units.

Despite the success of Alan Wake 2, Remedy's overall financial figures—including revenue, profit, and cash flow—have seen a decline. The company attributes this to heavy ongoing investments in marketing and development for its upcoming title, Control Resonant. The sequel to Control has already amassed over 1.5 million wishlists and is scheduled for release on September 24, 2026, across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
