Remedy Entertainment's Control Resonant showcases advanced graphics

Remedy Entertainment is releasing Control Resonant, a semi-open-world action RPG that utilizes the proprietary Northlight engine to deliver advanced graphical features. The game features a protagonist named Dylan Faden navigating a paranatural crisis in Manhattan, searching for Jesse Faden.

Technically, the title emphasizes high-end rendering through Path Tracing, ray reconstruction, and DLSS 4.5 on PC. On consoles, the game demonstrates varying performance profiles: the base PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X offer 864p performance modes upscaled to 1440p at 60fps, or 1260p quality modes at 30fps. The PlayStation 5 Pro provides enhanced capabilities through PSSR reconstruction and hardware-accelerated ray-traced reflections and shadows.

The Northlight engine has been adapted from linear shooter architecture to support a broader urban sandbox, incorporating physics-driven environmental destruction, volumetric lighting, and complex global illumination to render a dense New York setting.
