Remita launches multi-banking consumer app in Nigeria

Remita has expanded into the Nigerian consumer financial services market with the launch of a new multi-banking mobile application. Unveiled at Nigeria Fintech Week 2026 in Lagos, the app marks a strategic shift for the company, which has spent over two decades focusing on payment infrastructure for businesses, governments, and financial institutions.

The platform is designed to consolidate fragmented financial activities into a single interface. Users can link multiple bank accounts to perform transfers, pay utility bills, purchase airtime and data, and manage recurring transactions. The app also offers access to investment services, including shares and stocks, a retail loans marketplace, micro-pensions, and ticket bookings for flights and events.

To assist with personal finance, the app includes budgeting and expense tracking tools supported by artificial intelligence. Additionally, Remita is leveraging a partnership with the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS) to facilitate cross-border payments across Africa.
