Remitly Global expands into high-value transfers and business services

Remitly Global is expanding its business model beyond its core international remittance services, which traditionally focus on lower-value transfers between $200 and $300. The company is now targeting high-value senders, small businesses, and freelancers.

During the second quarter of 2026, the company’s Business Receivers segment surpassed 25,000 active businesses and generated revenue for the first time. In the High Value Senders segment, Remitly recorded its first $300,000 individual transaction and its first customer to reach $1 million in volume. Volume from customers sending at least $5,000 per transaction increased 37% year-over-year.

Additional growth initiatives include the Remitly Global Card, launched in the U.S. and select international markets, and a stablecoin card and wallet in certain Latin American markets. The company is also diversifying into products such as wallets, savings, borrowing, and ‘Send Now, Pay Later’ services, the revenue from which more than doubled year-over-year in Q2. CEO Sebastian Gunningham emphasized that the company remains focused on competitive pricing, speed, and using artificial intelligence to enhance customer support and operations.
