Remote work trends drive new tools for digital nomads and job seekers

The rise of remote work has created new challenges for digital nomads and remote employees, specifically regarding finding suitable workspaces and navigating international job markets.

In Greece, a new community platform called The Remoties has been launched to address the difficulty of finding work-friendly cafés. While traditional review platforms focus on food or aesthetics, The Remoties provides specific data for remote workers, such as WiFi reliability, availability of power outlets, and suitability for video calls. The platform currently features over 80 rated locations across Athens and Greece.

Simultaneously, the shift toward remote employment is changing career trajectories in regions like South Africa. Professionals are increasingly looking beyond local companies to access international opportunities, requiring specific strategies for optimizing digital profiles, identifying legitimate global employers, and managing international time zones.
