Renaissance music festivals scheduled in France

Several Renaissance-themed cultural festivals are scheduled to take place in France.

The 21st edition of the European Renaissance Music Festival will be held at the Château du Clos Lucé from September 25 to 27. The program features Italian music in connection with a Leonardo da Vinci exhibition. Notable performances include Les Arts Florissants, directed by Paul Agnew, performing Claudio Monteverdi’s works, and the Ensemble Clément Janequin, directed by Dominique Visse, presenting works by Adriano Banchieri and Orazio Vecchi.

Additionally, the 8th edition of Lude Renaissance will take place on September 19 and 20, 2026, in Lude (Sarthe). The event includes various performances such as medieval music from l’Oisel and l’Arbre de Sovenance, puppet shows, artistic fencing, and theatrical conferences across several sites, including the Château du Lude and the local town center.
