Renaissanceschool opens in Almere with FVD influence

The Renaissanceschool has officially opened in the Almere Poort district of the Netherlands. The school, which is based on the ideology of the Forum voor Democratie (FVD) party, focuses on ‘classical European education’ and utilizes the Socratic method to teach children critical thinking.

The opening event saw significant media presence and required a police presence due to threats directed at the institution. School director Douwe Filz noted that local officers were on-site as a precaution because of prominent guests, including FVD Member of Parliament Ralf Dekker.

While a previous private initiative in the area failed due to financial burdens, the Renaissanceschool has launched as a fully state-funded institution.
