Renata Farias launches science fiction book in Várzea Grande

Renata Farias, a 24-year-old author, launched her science fiction book at the Professora Laurinda Coelho Pereira Municipal Public Library in Várzea Grande.

Farias, who is autistic, shared how she overcame significant communication and social interaction challenges during her childhood and adolescence. She noted that writing became a vital tool for self-expression and building confidence, helping her navigate difficulties that once made simple tasks, such as responding to her name in school, daunting.

The event was attended by family, educators, and local officials, including representatives from the Municipal Secretariat of Education, Culture, Sport, and Leisure (SMECEL), who highlighted the importance of libraries as spaces for emerging local talent.
