Renato Canuto wins UFC BJJ 12 lightweight title

Renato Canuto secured the vacant UFC BJJ 12 lightweight championship by defeating Ethan Crelinsten via unanimous decision. The three-round co-main event took place at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas on October 8.

Canuto, a Brazilian athlete, moved down to the 155-pound division following previous title attempts at welterweight. The match featured significant grappling exchanges, including an anaconda attempt by Canuto and various sweeps and position changes by Crelinsten. Despite submission threats from both competitors, the contest was decided by the judges' scorecards.
