Tom Nolan defeats Renato Moicano at UFC Vegas 123

Australian fighter Tom Nolan secured a significant third-round TKO victory over Renato Moicano in the main event of UFC Vegas 123 at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas. Nolan, who extended his winning streak to six consecutive fights, overcame early grappling dominance from the Brazilian veteran to finish the bout with strikes and elbows.

The fight was marked by controversy regarding referee Dan Miragliotta’s decision in the second round. Despite Moicano controlling Nolan’s back and working for a submission, the referee ordered the fighters to stand up. This reset allowed Nolan to land a heavy knee that shifted the momentum, ultimately leading to the stoppage at 1:28 of the third round.

Other notable results from the event included Jacobe Smith defeating Randy Brown via unanimous decision in the co-main event, and Julian Erosa securing a first-round knockout against Jeong Yeong Lee in his retirement fight. Nolan earned a Performance of the Night bonus for his victory and has expressed interest in facing Mateusz Gamrot next.
