Renault 5 E-Tech receives updates to range and aerodynamics

Renault has updated its Renault 5 E-Tech, an electric vehicle in the B-segment, focusing on improved energy management and aerodynamics to increase driving range. The updated model features aerodynamic modifications, such as redesigned side skirts and exterior mirrors.

The vehicle is offered with two battery options. The 40 kWh battery, paired with a 120 hp motor, provides a WLTP range of approximately 315 km. The larger 52 kWh battery, paired with a 150 hp motor, offers a WLTP range of up to 430 km. In real-world testing, the 52 kWh version can achieve between 340–370 km in summer city driving, though highway speeds of 120 km/h may reduce this to around 250 km.

Technical specifications include a multi-link rear suspension, a 326-liter trunk, and the OpenR Link multimedia system with Google integration. Charging capabilities include DC fast charging up to 100 kW, allowing a 15–80% charge in approximately 30 minutes. Additionally, higher versions include 11 kW AC charging with V2L functionality.
