Renault and Audi showcase advancements in electric vehicle range and efficiency
Recent evaluations of new electric vehicle models highlight advancements in range and efficiency for family-oriented and performance SUVs.
The Renault Scenic E-Tech electric, which was named European Car of the Year 2024, demonstrates a real-world range of approximately 600 km on suburban roads, though this decreases to about 320 km when traveling at highway speeds of 130 km/h. The vehicle features a 220 HP output, a heat pump, and a Solarbay panoramic roof with adjustable transparency. Its Google-based openR link system assists in trip planning by accounting for charging requirements.
The updated Audi Q4 e-tron quattro performance variant delivers 340 HP and a maximum torque of 545 Nm from the rear axle. Equipped with an 82 kWh battery and silicon carbide semiconductor technology in the inverter, the vehicle aims to minimize energy loss. In practical highway testing, energy consumption was observed at approximately 22 kWh/100 km.
