Renault posts 9.5% revenue rise and strong EV sales in H1 2026
Renault Group reported a first‑half 2026 turnover of about €30.3 billion, an increase of roughly 9.5% compared with the same period a year earlier. Operating profit margin reached 5.2% and the company posted a net profit of €700 million. Sales of fully electric models grew 48%, now accounting for about one‑fifth of all vehicles sold, helped by the launch of the electric Twingo and a hybrid Dacia Sandero. Renault aims to reduce production costs by €400 per vehicle each year.
The company also signalled a strategic shift, saying it would be willing to manufacture cars for Chinese brands in its European factories provided the partnership is financially attractive. It has received proposals from Chinese manufacturers, including BYD, but stresses that any deal must benefit Renault. The group continues to cooperate with partners such as Nissan and Mitsubishi and targets the production of up to 300 000 vehicles for external customers annually by 2030.
