Renault expands French-made electric vehicle lineup
Renault is expanding its electric vehicle lineup produced in France, primarily at the Douai and Maubeuge plants. Key models include the Renault 5 E-Tech, Renault 4 E-Tech, and the Renault Scenic E-Tech. The Renault 5 E-Tech has seen a 38% increase in sales during the first half of 2026.
The Scenic E-Tech has received significant updates, specifically regarding battery options and charging speeds. A new 89 kWh NMC battery offers a range of up to 642 km (WLTP), while a 67 kWh LFP battery provides up to 467 km. Both versions feature improved DC fast-charging capabilities, reducing charging times by up to 25%.
Technological enhancements for the Scenic include the integration of Google’s Gemini AI into the OpenR infotainment system and a new Smart driving mode that automatically selects between Eco, Comfort, and Sport based on driving conditions. Interior updates include the use of recycled fabrics and new color finishes.
