Renault Kwid shows massive price gap between Brazil and India

The Renault Kwid exhibits a significant price disparity between the Brazilian and Indian markets. In Brazil, the updated 2027 model starts at approximately R$ 71,190 to R$ 82,790 (roughly €13,800), whereas the same model in India is priced starting at approximately 453,000 rupees (roughly €4,300 or R$ 24,580).

This price gap, where the vehicle costs more than three times as much in Brazil, is attributed to several structural factors. These include high taxation, production and logistics costs, exchange rates, and different market strategies. Additionally, regulatory requirements and safety standards in Brazil influence the final cost.

While the models share a basic architecture, they are not identical. The Indian version offers different equipment, such as a multimedia center in the entry-level Evolution trim and an automated transmission option not available in the Brazilian version. The 2027 Brazilian facelift includes a redesigned front end with a new grille, bumpers, and LED daytime running lights.
