Renault launches affordable Twingo E-Tech electric car

Renault has introduced the electric Twingo E-Tech, positioning it as one of the most affordable new electric vehicles in its segment. The base Evolution model is priced at 19,490 euros (approximately 145,000 DKK), while the Techno version is priced at 21,090 euros.

The vehicle features a 27.5 kWh LFP battery manufactured by CATL, offering a WLTP-rated range of up to 263 kilometers. While real-world testing by ADAC showed a range of approximately 176 kilometers, Renault supports the car's utility for urban environments by citing data from 18,000 customers, which indicates an average daily driving distance of only 26 kilometers.

Technical specifications include a 60 kW motor producing 82 horsepower, a top speed of 130 km/h, and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 12.1 seconds. The car supports standard 6.6 kW AC charging, with an optional package enabling 11 kW AC and 50 kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to go from 10 to 80 percent in about half an hour. The vehicle also supports V2L and V2G technologies.
