Renault launches electric Renault 4 convertible and Alpine‑styled sport Renault 5

Renault introduced the Renault 4 E‑Tech Electric Plein Sud, an electric version of its historic compact car equipped with a fabric roof that opens electrically in about ten seconds. The roof can be opened while driving up to 90 km/h and the added weight reduces WLTP range by only 7 km. The model retains the original’s load capacity, luggage space and 750 kg towing ability.

Separately, Renault’s performance brand Alpine, in partnership with Lacoste, unveiled a radical Alpine A290 Rallye version of the Renault 5. The limited model features a widened track, advanced aerodynamics and Lacoste’s crocodile branding. Alpine also released a co‑branded apparel line and a short film starring driver Pierre Gasly to promote the collaboration.

Both releases tap into the brand’s heritage while targeting modern electric and sporty market segments.
