Renault launches LPG version of Clio 6 with 1,200 km range
Renault has introduced a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) version of the Clio 6, featuring a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbo engine producing 120 hp. The vehicle is equipped with an EDC dual-clutch automatic transmission and is designed to run on either gasoline or LPG without driver intervention.
The LPG model focuses on reducing operating costs and increasing range. Renault reports a maximum range of up to 1,450 km under optimal conditions, with a guaranteed mixed driving range of at least 1,200 km between refuels. While LPG consumption is slightly higher than gasoline, the significantly lower cost of LPG—averaging around €1 per liter—offers substantial fuel savings.
Technical trade-offs include a reduction in trunk volume due to the LPG tank being located under the floor. While the driving experience is described as smooth and precise, some observations note vibrations at idle and a potentially intrusive stop-start system.
