Renault posts sales surge in Italy and launches new 2026 Megane

Renault Italy reported that 51,248 cars and commercial vehicles were registered in the first half of 2026, a 3.9% increase over the same period in 2025 and moving the brand to fourth place in overall sales. Private‑car registrations rose 15.4% and the order backlog grew 35%, driven by strong demand for the Clio, which already has about 20,000 orders, and a successful launch of the Twingo E‑Tech Electric with over 1,000 orders in two months.

In parallel, Renault introduced the 2026 Megane across France and several other EU markets. The model retains a 220 hp powertrain but now uses a larger 67 kWh LFP battery, extending the electric range to 501 km and enabling 0‑100 km/h in 7.6 seconds. Fast‑charging capacity increased to 165 kW, allowing an 80% charge in 24 minutes. The base price was cut by €2,000 to €37,500, and a higher‑spec Alpine version starts at €40,500, offering additional design tweaks, a 20‑inch wheel, Harman Kardon audio and semi‑autonomous driving features.
