Renault revives automotive icons with new electric models
Renault is reviving its automotive heritage through the development of new models inspired by its classic icons. The Renault 4, originally launched in 1961 as a practical and affordable sensation, has been reimagined as the E-Tech Electric. While the modern version is over four meters long and features a digital cockpit and 10.1-inch touchscreen, it maintains high recognition through design elements in the front and rear that evoke the original.
The new electric model offers practical utility, including a 420-liter trunk that expands to 1,405 liters with the rear seats folded, and the ability to transport items up to 2.20 meters long.
This follows the historical legacy of the Renault 5, which became a massive success in France during the 1980s. The Renault 5 was a highly popular model that transitioned from a three-door design to a five-door version to attract family buyers, eventually becoming a cultural staple similar to the Citroën 2CV.
