Renault rolls out deep discounts on Kwid 2026 and revisits Fluence pricing in Brazil
Renault announced substantial price reductions for its Kwid 2026 subcompact, offering discounts of more than R$20,000 across the Zen, Intense and Outsider trims. The discounted prices, observed in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo dealerships, bring the Zen version down to roughly R$62,000 from the official R$82,790, the Intense to about R$68,500 from R$85,890, and the Outsider to around R$73,000 from R$91,190. Production of the updated Kwid will continue at the company's plant in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná, with the new model expected in showrooms between August and September 2026.
In a separate analysis, Renault’s former sedan Fluence, which launched in Brazil in February 2011 at R$75,990, would cost approximately R$204,888 today after applying the 169.62% inflation recorded by the IGP‑M up to June 2026. This inflation‑adjusted price far exceeds current market offers for comparable midsize sedans, indicating the Fluence would be uncompetitive if reintroduced.
Both pieces highlight Renault’s pricing strategy in Brazil, with aggressive discounts on current models and a stark illustration of past pricing adjusted for inflation.
