Renault Trafic E-Tech named International Van of the Year 2027

The Renault Trafic E-Tech has been unanimously selected as the International Van of the Year 2027 by a jury of 26 experts from 25 countries and South Africa. The announcement was made at the IAA Transportation fair in Hannover.

Despite mass production not being scheduled to begin until late 2026, the vehicle received top marks for its technological advancements. Key features include an 800-volt architecture capable of 240 kW fast charging—allowing a 15% to 80% charge in approximately 20 minutes—and a skateboard platform designed to optimize cargo space.

The electric van offers two battery options: an Urban Range version with a 52 kWh LFP battery providing nearly 350 km of range, and a Long Range version with an 81 kWh NMC battery offering up to 470 km (and up to 690 km in urban conditions). Technical capabilities include a turning radius of 10.3 meters, a payload of up to 1.25 tons, and V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) functionality.
