Renault unveils electric Renault 4 convertible with soft‑top roof
Renault has introduced an all‑electric version of its historic Renault 4, branded as the Renault 4 E‑Tech (also called Renault 4 ever). The model is offered with a soft‑top “Plein Sud” roof that can be opened in about ten seconds by button or voice command, providing nearly a square metre of opening and allowing drivers to experience open‑air motoring.
The vehicle is powered by a 52 kWh NMC battery delivering a WLTP range of roughly 395 km and output of around 150 PS. It retains the classic boxy silhouette, 18‑inch wheels and iconic front grille, while adding modern touches such as a denim‑inspired fabric interior, enhanced safety structures around the canvas roof, and contemporary infotainment. Dimensions remain unchanged at 4.14 m length and a 2.62 m wheel‑base.
Renault positions the electric Renault 4 as a stylish, affordable option for the growing small‑EV market, aiming to combine the nostalgia of the 1960s model with today’s sustainability demands. The launch is being covered in France, Greece and the United States, indicating a broad European and overseas rollout.
