Renault unveils upgraded Megane E‑Tech EV with 500 km range and 24‑minute fast charge

Renault announced a revised version of its Megane E‑Tech Electric SUV at a Europe‑wide launch. The updated model features a sharpened front design and two trim levels – Techno and Esprit Alpine – with new colour options including a “satin blue” shade.

The powertrain now uses a 67 kWh lithium‑iron‑phosphate battery delivering up to 500 km of WLTP range. DC fast‑charging capacity rises to 165 kW, allowing a charge from 15 % to 80 % in about 24 minutes, while AC charging supports 11 kW (optionally 22 kW). The synchronous motor produces 220 hp (160 kW) and 300 Nm of torque, achieving 0‑100 km/h in 7.6 seconds and a top speed near 159 km/h.

Production takes place at Renault’s Douai plant in northern France, with the motor built at the Cleveland facility. Connectivity upgrades include Google Built‑in services, a new “OpenR Link” system, and a driver‑recognition camera. The vehicle also offers V2L (vehicle‑to‑load) and, where markets allow, V2G (vehicle‑to‑grid) functionality.
