Renault updates 5 E-Tech electric model with improved range

Renault is introducing updates to its 5 E-Tech electric model, focusing on improved range, new color options, and technological refinements. The updates aim to maintain the vehicle's retro-inspired design, which draws influence from 1990s models, while adapting to modern zero-emission requirements.

Key technical improvements include increased driving ranges for specific battery configurations. The 52 kWh Comfort version now offers a WLTP range of 430 km, up from 410 km. A new, more affordable version featuring a 36.5 kWh LFP battery and an 80 kW motor will also be introduced. Additionally, wireless charging efficiency has been increased by 50%, and a new 'Smart' driving mode will automatically switch between Econ, Comfort, and Sport based on driving style.

Visual updates include a new 'Flame Red' color and various personalization options, such as gold-finished wheels and new roof color combinations. The refreshed Renault 5 E-Tech is expected to be officially presented at the Paris Motor Show in October.
