Renault updates Kangoo range with improved electric motors and battery
Renault has announced updates to its Kangoo and Kangoo VAN lineups, with significant improvements focused on the E-Tech Electric models. The electric versions will now feature a larger 52 kWh NMC battery, up from the previous 45 kWh capacity. This upgrade increases the WLTP-rated range to up to 354 km.
Charging capabilities have also been enhanced. DC fast charging now reaches a peak of 100 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 15% to 80% in 30 minutes. For AC charging, options of 11 kW or 22 kW are available depending on the version. To optimize energy consumption and cabin comfort, the E-Tech Electric models include a heat pump.
The update introduces two new electric motor options: 135 CV (270 Nm) and 155 CV (300 Nm), replacing the previous 120 CV unit. The 155 CV version includes a ‘Perfo’ driving mode. Additionally, the electric models feature an improved infotainment system with a 10-inch touchscreen and a new e-shifter.
Beyond the electric range, the Kangoo family remains available with petrol and diesel engines. The vehicles are offered in two lengths—4.49 meters and 4.91 meters—with configurations ranging from two-seat vans to seven-seat passenger models.
