Renault updates Megane E-Tech Electric with LFP battery
Renault has updated the Megane E-Tech Electric for the new model year, focusing on efficiency, range, and charging speed without increasing the starting price. The primary upgrade is the introduction of a 67-kWh LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery, which offers improved durability and cost-effectiveness.
With this new battery and a 160 kW (218 hp) electric motor producing 300 Nm of torque, the vehicle achieves a WLTP range of up to 494 to 501 kilometers, an increase of approximately 33 kilometers over the previous model. Fast charging capabilities have also improved, with the battery able to charge from 15% to 80% in about 24 minutes, representing a 25% reduction in charging time.
The model lineup has been simplified into two trim levels: Techno and Esprit Alpine. Standard features across both include a heat pump, battery pre-conditioning, an 11-kW bidirectional AC charger, and the OpenR-link multimedia system with Google services. An optional 22-kW charger is also available.
