Renca: Search underway for two missing 12-year-old students

Authorities and family members are conducting an intensive search for two 12-year-old girls, Marianela Díaz and Antonella González, who disappeared in Renca, Chile, on August 20. The students, who were in sixth grade, went missing after leaving the Colegio Jorge Alessandri Rodríguez around 3:15 p.m. wearing their school uniforms.

Search efforts by Carabineros have focused on Cerro Colorado and Cerro Renca. Investigations are exploring several leads, including reports that the girls may have intended to visit a forest in Las Condes or Quilicura. Cell phone signals have placed one of the girls in the La Condes area.

Family members reported that classmates saw the girls boarding a RED bus (route 110). Additionally, video footage is being analyzed which appears to show the girls entering the rear seat of a white or gray Toyota vehicle. Investigators are currently working to identify the vehicle's license plate.
