Rende election dispute: Tar orders new ballot verification

The Regional Administrative Court (Tar) has ordered a new verification of ballots in Rende following a dispute over a municipal election seat. The contest involves Enrico Monaco, who was proclaimed elected with 361 votes, and Luigi Marafioti, who received 358 votes. Both candidates ran on the Rende Azzurra list.

In addition to previously ordered reviews of several sections regarding misallocated preferences, the court has now mandated a check of section 14. A discrepancy was identified in this section, where the official report attributes 8 votes to Monaco, while the scrutiny table records 18. The reopening of the section 14 ballot envelopes must be completed within 60 days of the court order.
