Rende hosts Cavaliere Identitario to celebrate Calabrian tradition
The town of Rende is hosting the Cavaliere Identitario event, a program designed to celebrate and preserve Calabrian traditions through art, history, and community engagement. The initiative is supported by the Municipality of Rende, the Province of Cosenza, the Calabria Region, and several local associations.
The program begins with the exhibition ‘Il Cibo nell’Arte’, curated by Alessandra Carelli, which explores the relationship between food and artistic representation. The event also features narratives from local senior center associations and the proclamation of ‘Cavalieri Identitari’ to honor individuals who safeguard collective memory.
On October 16, the cultural itinerary continues with guided tours of the historic center and a conference titled ‘Tradizioni – Enogastronomia – Identità: un viaggio attraverso i sensi ed i ricordi’, which will examine the value of intangible heritage.
