Render and Mollymawk announce new cloud infrastructure features

Render has announced the launch of Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR) for its Render PostgreSQL service. This feature allows developers to continuously archive data, enabling the restoration of a new database to a specific state prior to unexpected data loss. Render retains these archives for seven days, providing flexibility for recovery and testing configuration changes before moving to production.

In a separate development regarding infrastructure tools, Mollymawk has introduced autoscaling capabilities for MirageOS unikernels. This system utilizes Albatross to collect resource usage metrics, such as CPU load and throughput, directly from the host system without requiring heavy telemetry agents within the guest OS. Users can manage this via scaling policies that define whether a unikernel should scale and the maximum number of clones permitted.
