Rendez-vous acadien celebrations begin in Belle-Baie
The Rendez-vous acadien is currently underway in Belle-Baie, serving as a precursor to the Acadian National Day celebrations. The week-long event features a variety of cultural activities, including a community brunch in Pointe-Verte and lectures on Acadian history and cuisine.
Anne Godin, an ambassador for Acadian cuisine, and Mathieu Gingras presented conferences at the Salle Denis-Richard to an audience that included many newcomers to the region. The scheduled programming also includes comedy shows, outdoor music, sporting activities, children's circus performances, and a torchlight procession in Beresford.
The festivities are set to culminate on Saturday with major celebrations in Petit-Rocher. Expected activities include events along the Main Street and near the Petit-Rocher wharf, featuring the traditional tintamarre.
