Rene Baterbonia’s parents donate athlete jersey to Boss Toyo museum

The parents of the late student-athlete Rene Baterbonia have donated his senior high school basketball jersey to social media personality Boss Toyo for display at the Pinoy Pawnstars Museum in Quezon City.

During a recent appearance, Rovelyn Baterbonia and Boss Toyo addressed online rumors claiming the jersey was being sold for ₱25 million. Both parties denied the transaction, clarifying that the item was a voluntary donation rather than a sale. Rovelyn Baterbonia stated she would not sell the jersey regardless of the amount, noting the gesture was made to ensure the memorabilia is preserved.

Rene Baterbonia was a basketball player for the Ateneo Blue Eagles who passed away following a drowning incident in Dipaculao, Aurora, in June 2026. Boss Toyo emphasized that he did not use the situation for publicity or 'clout,' stating the jersey will be available for public viewing once the museum's renovation is complete.
