Renewable Energy Communities expand across Italian regions
Renewable Energy Communities (CER) are expanding across different Italian regions to promote local energy autonomy and sustainability.
In the Alta Murgia National Park, the CERAM community has been officially registered in the Puglia Region's National Third Sector Registry. Formed by the park management alongside the municipalities of Gravina and Toritto, the initiative aims to involve all thirteen municipalities within the park. The project is supported by the ministerial “Parks for the Climate” program, which includes a €300,000 fund for a photovoltaic plant at the “A. Manzoni” school in Toritto. The community seeks to unite public entities, citizens, and businesses to produce and share clean energy locally.
In the Piedmont region, the “Oltre Collina Torinese” CER, led by Chieri and involving 16 municipalities and 34 entities, is engaging local businesses. The Gruppo Imprese Chieresi (GIC) recently held a meeting at the Pininfarina research center in Cambiano to present the benefits of the community to its members. The initiative focuses on fostering local production and self-consumption of renewable energy to reduce costs and keep economic resources within the territory.
